Hirsch’s Centurion hosts Hoerskool Uitsig staff cook off.

Hoerskool Uitsig’s staff members recently joined Hirsch’s Centurion at the store for an exciting cook-off event. The Hoerskool staff were divided into two groups of 6 people. Each team had to cook a starter and main meal from Margaret Hirsch’s cookbook and they had to get creative with fruit for their desert, all using the Elba and SMEG demo stoves. Team number one were the Bulldogs; they cooked Pasta salad with tomatoes and olives as well Dennis’s favourite chicken bake. Team two were the Van Laverens; they prepared a Pasta salad with roasted red peppers, pesto and olives as well as a chicken and mushroom lasagne. They were judged by Hanriette Anderson, Robbie Grech and Hirsch’s Centurion PRO, Linda Levendag. After a few minutes of difficult debating, the judges decided that the Bulldogs had won by an inch. Both teams received the Hirsch’s cookbook and everyone had so much fun. Hirsch’s Centurion are planning on doing Hoerskool Uitsig cook off, round two...
