Special Treats for Youth Day and Father’s Day – All in One!
Councillor Ina Strijdom spent Saturday morning at Hirsch's Centurion and dedicated her time to young children from… for Youth Day. Said Hirsch’s Linda Levendag “The children were all greeted and welcomed to a beautifully laid table to make them feel special on Youth Day. They were give crayons and paper to create their very own chef's hats after which they had the chance to use the popcorn maker, and were given a lesson on how to handle electrical and hot appliances by Centurion Hirsch's PRO Linda Levendag. Councellor Ina Strijdom who brought the children to Hirsch's made them all feel very special and helped all them to colour in their Fathers Day pictures to give to their special dad on Sunday.
The children enjoyed their fruit juice and were very ecxited to use their imagination to decorate their own cup cakes with icing sugar and different types of sweets which they proudly took home to show mom and dad. Face to Face spent time with the children doing face painting whilst Jacobs Coffee made sure everyone who came into the store received a free cup of coffee.
There were many other Fathers Day and Youth Day promotions at Hirsch, including a Weber braai demo. Jovanka Pearl Photography was in store to take photo's of families as well as mom's, daughters, fathers and sons to enter the Hirsch's Look Alike Competition. The smell of tasty food coming from the other appliances created a very homely atmosphere and made everyone feel a little hungry.
There was a great Harley Davidson display right in front of the store with Top Gear showing on the big screen, to make all the dads feel special and at home. Master Drive did a Road Safety basic course outside whilst giving mom's and dads a chance to drive the buggy with "drunken glasses" on. “ Many people found it very hard just to find the key hole to start the buggy as the feeling of being intoxicated becomes too strong when using the glasses, and I think this driving test made everyone wearing them aware of just how dangerous drinking and driving really is. It was a great way of making people aware of the dangers of drinking and driving” said Linda
