Entertaining with flair this summer, was the theme at a recent cooking demonstration hosted at Hirsch’s Umhlanga.

Summer is on the way, and there is no better way to enjoy the long summer evenings than with friends and family. Every host dreams of serving impressive meals with minimal effort  and relaxing in the comfort of your home with good company.  In-house chef at Unilever, Wendy delivered an inspirational demonstration on how to prepare the meals that will have your guests in awe.  “Starting with a fluffy savoury bread, served with farm style butter and cheese.  This can be cut into strips and tastefully placed on a big white platter.  To add substance to the meal, Chicken Tikka Skewers  and smoked chicken breast with apricot can be served, on a bed of fresh rocket with baby carrots and mealies.

The secret is to keep it simple while using fresh, quality ingredients added Wendy,  while serving the main dish to the audience.

“This is what living on the East Coast is about, and I am already planning the next social gathering at my house” said Claire Fraser from Umhlanga.
